The History
of Bohemia

Some things never change.

A taste you remember before you even try it. Bohemia has been part of everyday moments for generations. It was there for family evenings, the first televisions, videocassettes, gaming consoles and long summer nights. The packaging, adverts and times may have changed – but the feeling of opening a bag has stayed the same.

Bohemia Chips were first produced in the Czech Republic in 1982, in Choustník in South Bohemia, near Tábor. They came about through a partnership between the state-owned Zelenina company and the Zeus agricultural cooperative. The red-and-yellow bags were sold in Ovoce–zelenina fruit and vegetable shops. They were available mostly just before Christmas and were often sold from behind the counter. First introduced at the Země Živitelka agricultural fair in České Budějovice, they quickly became very popular.
